Project Quality & Safety Manager (PRQSM)

About the role

The Project Quality & Safety Manager (PRQSM) will represent quality within the project team, ensuring customer satisfaction through safety, quality assurance and compliance from tender stage to contract closure. The role acts as the independent voice of the customer and coordinates all quality and safety activities across the project lifecycle.

Key responsibilities

• Serve as the primary interface with customer quality and safety teams, attending CSS interviews and supporting action plans.
• Develop, document, implement and continuously improve the Project Quality Management Plan (PQMP) in line with contract requirements and Alstom processes.
• Apply structured techniques such as FMEA to assess criticality of solutions and define inspection activities for Critical to Quality (CTQ) items.
• Guide engineering, industrial and supplier teams on quality contributions and ensure alignment with the quality plan.
• Coordinate the community of quality experts across systems, subsystems and participating units.
• Support project audits, supplier quality system reviews and compliance with customer requests.
• Prepare DFQ gate reviews, manage non‑conformities, safety issues and change requests, and analyse cost of non‑quality.

Required profile

• Proven experience in project quality and safety management within industrial or railway projects.
• Strong understanding of quality standards, safety assessments and criticality analysis.
• Ability to work with cross‑functional teams and external stakeholders such as certification bodies.
• Excellent communication skills to represent the customer’s perspective.
