Medical Science Liaison (MSL) – Scientific Engagement

About the role

As a Medical Science Liaison (MSL) at AstraZeneca you will translate scientific data into actionable insights for healthcare professionals across your territory. Working 60 % in the field, you will build trusted scientific partnerships with key external experts and support the alignment of medical and commercial objectives while maintaining the highest ethical standards.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct high‑quality scientific discussions with key external experts (KEEs) and healthcare professionals, gathering insights to inform medical strategy and brand planning.
• Maintain up‑to‑date therapeutic‑area expertise through literature review, congress attendance and expert engagement.
• Deliver the medical components of account plans on time and within budget, addressing identified gaps and opportunities.
• Develop deep, trust‑based relationships with KEEs, map interests and identify collaboration opportunities.
• Present and discuss data sets to uncover evidence gaps, patient pathways and unmet needs.
• Initiate and co‑create scientific events, journal clubs and one‑to‑one exchanges to elevate disease and therapy understanding.
• Create compliant digital medical content such as newsletters and approved emails as part of integrated medical plans.
• Share field intelligence with cross‑functional teams and support clinical study site selection, early‑access programs and externally sponsored research.
• Identify partners for real‑world evidence initiatives and care‑transformation projects.

Required profile

• Scientific credibility and strong business acumen.
• Ability to build and maintain trusted relationships with KEEs and HCPs.
• Willingness to travel extensively (approximately 60 % field‑based).
• Collaborative mindset to work closely with a Medical Affairs Manager and cross‑functional teams.
