Maintenance Technician 2

About the role

Alstom is seeking a Maintenance Technician 2 to service, maintain and repair the overhead contact system (OCS), transformer stations (TS) and related infrastructure equipment. The role is part of a dedicated maintenance team focused on safety, efficiency and continuous improvement.

Key responsibilities

• Perform scheduled and corrective maintenance on OCS, TS and infrastructure assets.
• Follow work instructions, standard operating sheets and task sequencing while adhering to quality systems.
• Support secondary‑level fault finding and use specialised processes as required.
• Record progress and issues in MMIS/SES and complete work checklists and orders.
• Suggest productivity improvements and maintain 5S housekeeping standards.
• Participate in training, including forklift operation and road vehicle driving, and respond to call‑outs or breakdowns.

Required profile

• Completed apprenticeship or equivalent technical qualification (ONC/HNC/City & Guilds) with dual mechanical‑electrical skills.
• Electrical certification at Principal Engineer level; medium‑voltage certification is a plus.
• Ability to work safely in compliance with EHS regulations and company standards.
• Willingness to be cross‑trained in additional activities as directed by production management.
