Machine Learning Researcher – Algorithmic Trading

About the role

Final is looking for a senior Machine Learning Researcher to join its elite algorithmic trading team. You will turn innovative research ideas into live trading strategies that directly impact the firm’s financial performance.

Key responsibilities

• Lead independent research projects applying ML, deep learning, signal processing and data mining to diverse datasets.
• Design and prototype new trading strategies and improve the performance of existing algorithms.
• Collaborate with the R&D team to deploy research outcomes into live trading systems.
• Work with colleagues to continuously optimise Final’s algorithmic platform.

Required profile

• Master’s or PhD in Computer Science, Physics, Electrical Engineering, Mathematics, Statistics or a related discipline.
• 5+ years of experience in machine‑learning research, deep learning or data mining.
• Strong software engineering skills in Python and/or C++.
• Excellent statistical analysis and mathematical abilities.
• Team‑player mindset with a willingness to share knowledge and mentor peers.
• Creative, self‑motivated and comfortable tackling complex problems.
