High Speed Optical Transceiver Design Engineer

About the role

Join NVIDIA's Networking division to lead the electrical design of next‑generation high‑speed optical transceivers. You will translate system specifications into robust schematics and PCBs, collaborating across mechanical, software, and optics teams to push data‑center bandwidth to new extremes.

Key responsibilities

• Develop detailed electrical schematics, select components, and create PCB layouts for optical transceiver products.
• Lead multi‑disciplinary design efforts, coordinating with thermo‑mechanical, signal/power integrity, software, and optics groups.
• Conduct hands‑on laboratory experiments to validate designs, evaluate performance, and iterate improvements.
• Work with qualification, supplier, and manufacturing teams to transition designs from lab prototypes to high‑volume production.
• Stay current with emerging technologies and apply them to successive product generations.

Required profile

• B.Sc. or M.Sc. in Electrical Engineering (or equivalent experience).
• Minimum 2 years of experience in electrical hardware design.
• Strong problem‑solving ability and excellent written communication.
• Comfort working on multi‑disciplinary projects and in a fast‑paced development environment.
• Understanding of physical trade‑offs in high‑speed designs.
