Hardware Board Design Senior Staff Engineer

About the role

Marvell is seeking a Senior Staff Engineer to lead hardware board design for its high‑performance switch products. The role involves end‑to‑end responsibility from architecture through tape‑out and post‑silicon bring‑up, working closely with internal teams and ODM partners.

Key responsibilities

• Define system architecture and drive board design phases including component selection, schematic capture and layout.
• Collaborate with hardware, system and test engineers to validate product specifications and performance.
• Lead board bring‑up, perform signal‑ and power‑integrity measurements, and resolve issues in post‑silicon validation.
• Guide ODM partners through design reviews and ensure compliance with cost, performance and density targets.
• Provide system‑level input for device definition and interface with cross‑functional groups.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering.
• 10+ years of experience designing high‑speed digital or analog circuitry on dense PCBs for Ethernet switches, microcontrollers or processors.
• 5+ years of experience working with ODMs and high‑density, fine‑pitch board designs.
• Proven track record leading small engineering teams to successful tape‑out.

Required skills

• High‑speed SERDES design and interfaces such as PCIe Gen3/4/5, DDR4, 10G/25G/50G/100G Ethernet.
• Power‑supply design, signal integrity and power integrity analysis.
• Board layout, schematic entry, and hands‑on lab measurement techniques.
• Experience with fine‑pitch components, high‑density interconnects, and thermal/mechanical considerations.
