Field Service Technician

About the role

As a Field Service Technician you will travel to customer sites worldwide to perform hands‑on mechanical installation, maintenance and repair of large rotating equipment such as gas turbines, steam turbines and generators. You will join an international field service team, ensuring safe execution, high‑quality workmanship and reliable operation of critical power‑generation assets.

Key responsibilities

• Perform onsite mechanical installation, overhaul and preventive maintenance on gas turbines, steam turbines and generators.
• Diagnose and resolve mechanical issues using technical documentation, drawings and service procedures.
• Execute inspections, calibrations and system configurations to guarantee equipment reliability.
• Commission new equipment and assess condition for upgrades or component replacement.
• Provide on‑site training to customer personnel and lead daily operations in non‑routine situations.
• Document all work performed and support accurate reporting.
• Maintain strong customer relationships through clear technical communication.

Required profile

• Hands‑on experience as a mechanical technician or fitter in an industrial or heavy‑equipment environment.
• Familiarity with gas turbines, steam turbines or generators is an advantage.
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and service documentation.
• Working knowledge of English for technical communication.
• Willingness to travel worldwide and work extended periods away from home.
• Strong commitment to health, safety, quality and teamwork in a multicultural setting.
