Director, Engineering - Tel Aviv

About the role

Datadog's Tel Aviv engineering site covers fast-moving product areas such as Product Analytics, Universal Service Monitoring, Security Monitoring and Software Delivery tools. The company is investing in on-site senior leadership and is looking for a Director of Engineering based in Tel Aviv to lead a multi-team engineering organization, partner with product managers and engineering leaders across Tel Aviv, Paris and the US, and help shape the site as it grows.

Key responsibilities

• Manage and grow a team of engineers, ensuring high-quality, timely work and that they are happy, motivated and developing
• Hire and develop senior talent, engineers and managers, raising the seniority bar as the site scales
• Grow and coach a team of engineering managers
• Partner with product managers and designers to shape the product
• Work with engineering leaders in Tel Aviv, Europe and the US on cross-cutting projects across a multi-hub organization
• Help shape the future of the Tel Aviv site and the broader engineering organization

Required profile

• A product-building leader who works closely with product and design on what to build
• Came up through engineering, earns the trust of senior engineers and ramps quickly into new technical domains
• Integrates AI into how teams build, treating AI-first thinking as core engineering practice
• Has hired, grown and managed engineering teams and managers, and has worked in multi-geography companies at scale
• Customer-focused, with deep knowledge in at least one area: web and product analytics, agentic or developer-experience products, low-level systems and networking, or security engineering
