Data & BI Engineer – Build Modern Data Platform

About the role

Rhino is looking for a Data & BI Engineer to design, build, and own a modern data platform that powers product telemetry, customer activity, and core business systems. You will work closely with engineering, BI, and business stakeholders to deliver reliable, near‑real‑time analytics.

Key responsibilities

• Own end‑to‑end implementation of the data platform, from ingestion to reporting.
• Build and maintain scalable ETL/ELT pipelines for production databases, product telemetry, and SaaS sources (e.g., HubSpot, billing systems).
• Design continuously refreshing pipelines and near‑real‑time data layers with monitoring and alerting.
• Define and evolve the modern data stack, including data warehouse, transformation, orchestration, and BI layers.
• Create and maintain business dashboards and self‑service reporting for Sales, Finance, Customer Success, Product, and Leadership.
• Apply AI tooling to enhance data development and enable agent‑based data interfaces.
• Ensure data quality, reliability, documentation, and operational monitoring.

Required profile

• 4+ years of experience in Data Engineering or BI Engineering.
• Strong Python and SQL programming skills.
• Hands‑on experience with modern data stack tools such as dbt, Airflow or Dagster.
• Experience with cloud data warehouses like Snowflake, BigQuery, or PostgreSQL.
• Proven ability to build dashboards using Metabase, Looker, Tableau, or Power BI.
• Experience integrating production databases with SaaS platforms (CRM, billing, ERP, marketing analytics).
