Chip Modeling Architect

About the role

NVIDIA Networking seeks a Chip Modeling Architect to design and simulate next‑generation network ASICs that power AI and HPC supercomputers. You will bridge hardware and software teams, creating accurate models that guide architecture decisions from concept through silicon.

Key responsibilities

• Define the end‑to‑end architecture of network adapter chips from market requirements through design, silicon validation and deployment.
• Collaborate with physical design, logic design, system software, firmware and application teams to ensure architectural coherence.
• Develop cycle‑accurate simulation components that evaluate micro‑architecture and architectural trade‑offs.
• Work with industry standards bodies and customers to integrate the technology into real‑world deployments.
• Explore innovative ideas to improve performance and optimise chip systems.
• Act as a knowledge hub within NVIDIA, sharing insights across groups.

Required profile

• BSc or MSc in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science or a related field from a recognised university.
• 4+ years of experience in chip architecture, system integration or a similar hardware‑focused role.
• Proven experience developing simulation models for hardware components.
• Strong understanding of computing and networking systems and solid debugging skills.
• High attention to detail, design quality focus and the ability to learn complex concepts quickly.

Required skills

• Simulation model development (cycle‑accurate).
• Network simulation tools such as OMNeT++, ns‑3, SST or gem5.
• Chip architecture and system integration.
• Debugging of hardware and software interactions.
