Sr Software Development Engineer, Backend

About the role

BeyondTrust is looking for a Senior Software Development Engineer focused on backend services to help launch and support Entitle, its Just‑In‑Time Access Management system. You will join a fast‑paced team building a cloud‑native platform using modern orchestration technologies, and you will act as a technical leader solving cloud‑scale challenges.

Key responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain highly scalable and resilient backend components, services, and orchestration layers.
• Deliver outstanding user experiences for complex API‑based integrations.
• Contribute to system architecture and provide technical leadership on increasingly complex projects.
• Review functional and technical requirements, identify gaps, propose simplifications, and communicate solutions across cross‑functional teams.
• Take end‑to‑end ownership of features, driving high‑quality results individually and as part of a team.
• Apply engineering best practices to ensure relentless pursuit of quality.

Required profile

• 5+ years delivering and supporting enterprise‑ready cloud‑based systems.
• Solid understanding of modern design patterns and system architecture.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills for cross‑functional work.
• Full‑lifecycle development experience in an agile, CI/CD environment.
• Hands‑on experience architecting and developing backend services.
• Proficiency in Python with deep knowledge of OOP, system design, networking, and Linux.
• Experience with public cloud providers (AWS, Google Cloud, Azure).
• Experience with data‑engineering technologies such as RabbitMQ, S3, ClickHouse, Airflow, Spark, and Elasticsearch.
• Experience building scalable microservices and optimizing performance for cloud and on‑premises deployments.
• Understanding of CI/CD, monitoring, alerting, and testing frameworks (unit and end‑to‑end).
