Senior Mechanical Design Engineer – Optical Metrology Systems

About the role

We are seeking a Senior Mechanical Design Engineer to join our Hardware Development team in the Optical Metrology Division. The role focuses on the development of next‑generation precision optical metrology systems used in semiconductor manufacturing.

Key responsibilities

• Lead mechanical development activities across the full product lifecycle, from concept definition and feasibility studies to detailed design, prototyping and production support.
• Characterize, design and integrate complex mechanical assemblies that meet stringent performance, stability and accuracy requirements.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including optics, electronics, software and manufacturing to ensure seamless system integration.
• Perform mechanical analysis, tolerance studies and validation testing to verify design specifications.
• Prepare technical documentation, drawings and specifications for internal and external stakeholders.

Required profile

• Senior‑level Mechanical Design Engineer with proven experience in high‑precision equipment development.
• Strong background in mechanical engineering principles applied to optical metrology or related semiconductor equipment.
• Ability to lead projects and work effectively in a fast‑paced, multidisciplinary environment.

Required skills

• Mechanical design and analysis for precision systems.
• Experience with tolerance analysis, GD&T and vibration/thermal stability considerations.
• Knowledge of optical metrology hardware integration.
