Senior Digital Hardware Design Engineer

About the role

We are looking for a senior digital hardware design engineer to lead the development of next‑generation counter‑UAS processing units. You will own the complete hardware lifecycle, from concept through mass production, and help define the digital architecture that powers our high‑performance drone‑countering systems.

Key responsibilities

• Drive full‑life‑cycle hardware design, including schematic capture, component selection, PDN design and high‑yield production.
• Collaborate with architecture teams to define modular computing strategies, baseboard optimisations and multi‑sensor integration.
• Lead layout and integration of Intel processors and COM Express (COMe) modules, routing dense high‑speed buses such as PCIe Gen 4/5, DDR4/DDR5, 10 GbE and USB4.
• Perform pre‑ and post‑layout Signal‑Integrity and Power‑Integrity simulations to ensure timing margins, stable power delivery and low‑noise performance.
• Apply Design‑for‑Excellence practices (DFM, DFA, DFT), boundary‑scan testability and detailed verification documentation to enable smooth transfer to manufacturing.
• Coordinate with subcontractors and cross‑disciplinary teams (FPGA, embedded software, cyber, mechanical) to resolve space, thermal and noise constraints.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering or equivalent experience.
• Minimum 8 years of experience in high‑speed, multi‑layer carrier board design.
• Proven track record delivering complex boards that incorporate Intel CPUs and COM Express form factors.
