Risk Manager - Israel

About the role

Wise is looking for a Risk Manager for Israel to lead its risk function in the region. The role sits within the LATAM and MEA Risk team and covers risk identification, assessment and mitigation to protect the stability and integrity of operations in Israel.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and execute a global risk management strategy tailored to Israel, ensuring consistent application of risk methodologies, policies and procedures across all Israel operations.
• Conduct risk self-assessments for the business in entities, supporting remediation and closure.
• Work with product teams to provide risk insights on product changes, new products, open issues and horizon risks.
• Monitor regional market trends, product risks, incidents, regulatory developments and emerging risk factors, and recommend mitigation strategies.
• Oversee the implementation of risk management tools and systems, using technology and data analytics to improve monitoring, reporting and decision-making.
• Design and implement risk mitigation strategies, controls and action plans with business units, and monitor control effectiveness.
• Report risk exposures, trends and emerging risks to senior management and the board.
• Build relationships with regional regulators, industry peers and other stakeholders.

Required profile

• 3+ years of experience in the financial industry, focused on Israel, ideally with first-line and second-line experience.
• Proven track record of leading risk management functions, including risk frameworks, policies and procedures, and leading teams.
• Extensive experience in operations, enterprise risk and/or regulatory risk management in financial services, with a focus on Israel.
• Deep knowledge of Israeli regulations related to payment services, specifically risk management.
• Israeli citizenship and residence in Israel; native or fluent Hebrew speaker with strong English.
