R&D Mechanical Engineer

About the role

Netafim, the global leader in irrigation solutions for sustainable agriculture, is looking for a highly skilled and motivated Mechanical Engineer to join its R&D team. The role contributes to technological advancement and product innovation within the company.

Key responsibilities

• Collaborate with the R&D team to generate innovative concepts and ideas for new products and technologies.
• Design and run experiments and tests to evaluate the mechanical reliability of prototypes.
• Incorporate hydraulic principles and fluid dynamics into system designs to optimise water pressure and flow rate.
• Analyse and calculate mechanical designs for products and new technology mechanisms.
• Perform detailed documentation to track project status and the design process.
• Design machines and devices that support the production of new products.

Required profile

• BSc degree in Mechanical Engineering.
• 4-5 years of mechanical design development experience.
• Proven experience in detailed product design and in searching for and implementing technologies according to need.
• Experience with irrigation systems or agriculture is an advantage.
• Highly analytical, with strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Project management skills to deliver design milestones on time.
• Good English verbal and written communication skills.

Required skills

• Proficiency in SolidWorks for 3D modelling, simulation and drawing creation.
• Knowledge of hydraulic principles and fluid dynamics.
