Mechanical Engineering Manager

About the role

Medtronic is seeking a Mechanical Engineering Manager to lead the design and development of innovative mechanical and electromechanical medical products within the Cranial and Spinal Technologies platform. The role involves hands‑on hardware work and collaboration across a global matrixed organization.

Key responsibilities

• Lead, coach and develop a team of Mechanical Engineers, handling performance management and career development.
• Plan, prioritize and direct engineering activities for sustaining engineering, platform improvements and new product development.
• Provide technical leadership from concept through verification, design transfer and production readiness.
• Ensure compliance with Design Control, Quality System requirements and medical device regulations.
• Manage resources across multiple projects, coordinate with global partners, suppliers and manufacturing.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering (or equivalent) with at least 5 years of relevant experience, or advanced degree with 3 years.
• Proven people‑management experience leading a mechanical development team in an R&D environment.
• Strong background in developing mechanical and electromechanical products, including precision assemblies and complex systems.
• Excellent English communication skills and ability to work in a cross‑functional, matrixed organization.
