Maintenance Specialist – Medical Imaging Equipment

About the role

As a Maintenance Specialist you will ensure the reliable operation of complex medical imaging equipment, performing installations, preventive maintenance and emergency repairs to support patient care.

Key responsibilities

• Perform scheduled preventive maintenance on a range of imaging systems.
• Diagnose and resolve technical issues using schematics, diagnostic tools and service manuals.
• Carry out corrective maintenance and emergency repairs to minimise equipment downtime.
• Document all service activities, parts replaced and repairs performed.
• Maintain knowledge of GE product lines, software updates and regulatory requirements (ISO, FDA).
• Manage spare‑parts inventory and order components as needed.
• Collaborate with engineering, sales and customer‑service teams.
• Participate in on‑call rotations for after‑hours service.

Required profile

• Practical engineering degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent military experience.
• 3–5 years of experience maintaining complex production or medical equipment.
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, schematics and service manuals.
• Strong troubleshooting and problem‑solving approach.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Customer‑focused attitude and ability to work independently or in a team.
