Front-End Team Lead

About the role

Via is looking for a Front-End Team Lead to head a talented group of engineers at its Tel Aviv R&D centre. You will own the front‑end architecture that powers the Operation Center – the real‑time core of Via’s global transit platform – and drive both people leadership and technical excellence.

Key responsibilities

• Lead, mentor and grow Front‑End engineers, supporting their professional development.
• Own people and operational aspects of the team to ensure effective execution and continuous improvement.
• Drive technical excellence through architecture decisions, design discussions and code reviews.
• Improve development processes, engineering practices and overall team workflow.
• Collaborate closely with Product, Design and other engineering teams to deliver impactful user experiences.
• Implement and evolve Front‑End tools and libraries used across Via.
• Enhance the user experience across the Via platform.

Required profile

• B.Sc. in Computer Science or a related field.
• At least 2 years of experience leading and managing a team of engineers.
• 5+ years of professional software development experience.
• Strong experience with React or similar Front‑End frameworks.
• Ability to quickly understand complex systems and make thoughtful technical decisions.
• Experience with architecture, system design and code reviews.
• Proactive, ownership‑driven mindset with a passion for continuous improvement.
• Experience with map‑based application development (Mapbox, Google JS SDK) is a plus.
• Experience with backend development in Python is a plus.
