Algorithm Engineer for Animal Monitoring Solutions

About the role

As an Algorithm Engineer you will design and optimise signal‑processing and machine‑learning solutions for animal monitoring systems that run on edge devices and cloud/on‑prem platforms. You will develop high‑performance models using existing datasets and work closely with hardware, firmware and software teams to integrate algorithms into production.

Key responsibilities

• Translate real‑world sensing challenges into robust algorithmic solutions.
• Develop and optimise signal‑processing and embedded ML algorithms for constrained edge environments.
• Analyse datasets, evaluate model performance and iterate to improve accuracy and robustness.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to integrate algorithms into production systems.
• Establish best practices for experimentation, validation and reproducibility.

Required profile

• BSc in a relevant STEM field with 3+ years of hands‑on algorithm development experience.
• Strong practical experience with machine learning, signal processing and model optimisation under resource constraints.
• Excellent debugging, problem‑solving and communication skills in English.
• High level of ownership, curiosity and a hands‑on approach.
