About the role
Applied Materials is seeking a senior Algorithm Developer to lead the research, design, and implementation of cutting‑edge detection algorithms for next‑generation optical wafer inspection tools. You will work within an elite R&D group focused on computer vision and deep learning for semiconductor manufacturing.
Key responsibilities
- Lead end‑to‑end development of algorithmic modules, from concept and feasibility studies to product integration.
- Perform problem analysis, data gathering, literature review, and algorithm selection for image processing tasks.
- Prototype, optimize, and integrate computer‑vision and deep‑learning solutions into inspection systems.
Required profile
- Master’s or research background in Image/Signal Processing, Computer Vision, Detection, or Deep Learning.
- 10+ years of experience in computer vision, image processing, and deep‑learning technologies.
- Strong analytical, problem‑solving, and communication skills.
Required skills
- Proficiency in C/C++ and Python.
- Experience with PyTorch or a similar deep‑learning framework.
- Knowledge of image registration, pattern recognition, object detection, and classification.
