Tenure‑Track Faculty – Experimental Aerodynamics & Aeroacoustics

About the role

The School of Mechanical Engineering at Tel Aviv University seeks a tenure‑track faculty member at any level to lead experimental research in aerodynamics and aeroacoustics. The position is based on‑site in Israel and combines research, teaching, and service responsibilities.

Key responsibilities

• Design, set up, and operate experimental facilities such as wind tunnels, flow‑visualisation rigs, and acoustic measurement systems.
• Conduct high‑quality research, publish findings in peer‑reviewed journals and conferences, and secure external research funding.
• Teach undergraduate and graduate courses in mechanical/aerospace engineering and develop new curricula.
• Supervise student projects, theses, and dissertations, fostering an inclusive learning environment.
• Participate in departmental committees, outreach activities, and collaborations with industry and international research partners.

Required profile

• Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or a closely related discipline.
• Strong research record in experimental aerodynamics and/or aeroacoustics, demonstrated by publications.
• Experience designing and executing laboratory experiments and mentoring graduate and undergraduate students.
• Commitment to inclusive teaching and collaborative interdisciplinary work.
• Ability to contribute to departmental service and external partnership development.
