School Principal – Fixed Term – Area Office Jerusalem

About the role

The United Nations Relief and Works Agency (UNRWA) is seeking an experienced School Principal for a fixed‑term assignment at its Area Office in Jerusalem. This position is open to internal candidates only and will support the delivery of inclusive education to registered Palestine refugees.

Key responsibilities

• Lead professional development for school staff in line with the School Development Plan and UNRWA education priorities.
• Manage the delivery of quality inclusive education services to all students, ensuring compliance with UNRWA policies.
• Develop and maintain communication mechanisms to engage parents and the wider community.
• Oversee school administration, including pupil registration, record keeping, EMIS data entry, budgeting, and financial management.
• Foster a safe, secure, and effective learning environment.
• Implement monitoring, evaluation, and assessment practices to maximize student potential.
• Report to the Area Education Officer and supervise professional and general services staff.

Required profile

• Internal UNRWA candidate eligible for roster placement.
• Proven experience in school leadership and management.
• Ability to supervise staff and coordinate with professional support cadres.
• Familiarity with UNRWA policies, inclusive education standards, and budgeting procedures.
