Open‑Rank Tenure‑Track Faculty Position in Communication

About the role

The School of Social and Policy Studies at Tel Aviv University seeks a full‑time, tenure‑track, open‑rank faculty member for the Department of Communication, starting 1 October 2027. The appointment is open to candidates at any academic rank, from Lecturer to Full Professor, and will involve teaching, research, and graduate supervision.

Key responsibilities

• Teach undergraduate and graduate courses, including both existing and self‑developed modules.
• Supervise master’s and doctoral students in their research projects.
• Conduct high‑quality research and publish in leading journals.
• Secure external research funding from competitive local and international foundations.
• Contribute to departmental service, curriculum development, and interdisciplinary initiatives.

Required profile

• PhD (or expected award) in Communication or a closely related field by October 2027.
• Demonstrated record of excellent research and publications; post‑doctoral experience is desirable.
• Ability to teach courses in Hebrew within three years of appointment.
• Commitment to multidisciplinary research, especially in areas such as computational social sciences, critical data studies, or marketing communication.
