Legal Counsel

About the role

As a Legal Counsel at Pagaya, you will provide high‑quality legal, regulatory and compliance advice across data protection, cybersecurity, employment and private fund matters. You will act as a trusted advisor to management and cross‑functional teams, helping the company navigate a complex global regulatory landscape while supporting innovation and growth.

Key responsibilities

• Provide legal support and strategic advice on data protection, cybersecurity, HR/employment, private fund investment and commercial matters.
• Draft, review and negotiate commercial agreements such as vendor, SaaS, partnership, data processing and employment contracts.
• Advise internal teams—including IT, Security, HR, Engineering and Finance—on compliance with applicable laws and company policies.
• Ensure compliance with global privacy frameworks (GDPR, CCPA, Israeli law) and align contractual terms with security requirements.
• Contribute to the development and implementation of company‑wide legal, privacy and security governance frameworks.

Required profile

• LL.B, J.D. or equivalent with a license to practice law in Israel.
• 5+ years of experience in commercial, technology or corporate law, with exposure to data protection, cybersecurity or employment law.
• Proven track record drafting and negotiating complex B2B SaaS, data licensing and service agreements.
• Fluency in English and strong analytical, drafting and negotiation skills.

Required skills

• In‑depth knowledge of GDPR and CCPA privacy regulations.
• Familiarity with ISO 27001 and SOC 2 information security frameworks.
