Doctoral or Postdoctoral Research Position in Circadian Physiology

About the role

The laboratory of Prof. Roee Gutman at Tel‑Hai University seeks a motivated researcher to lead a project on the neuromolecular mechanisms of circadian entrainment under obesogenic conditions. The position spans three to four years and combines experimental work with advanced data analysis.

Key responsibilities

• Design and execute experiments to assess how non‑matching photic cycles re‑program the suprachiasmatic nucleus.
• Perform single‑cell RNA sequencing and analyze cell‑type‑specific transcriptional changes.
• Conduct genome‑wide DNA methylation profiling to investigate epigenetic reprogramming.
• Examine sex‑dependent differences in entrainment kinetics and neurochemistry.
• Publish first‑author papers, develop collaborative projects, and mentor graduate students.

Required profile

• MSc or PhD in Systems Physiology, Neurobiology, Bioinformatics, Computational Biology or a related discipline.
• Hands‑on experience with big‑data analysis and computational tools.
• Proficiency in R or Python and familiarity with scRNA‑seq pipelines.
• Experience in epigenetic data analysis is advantageous.
