Control Room Operator – Hydroelectric Power Plant

About the role

General Electric Company is looking for an experienced Control Room Operator to join the team at its hydroelectric power plant near Kibbutz Neve Or, in the northern Beit Shan Valley. The role involves real‑time monitoring and control of electricity generation, ensuring safe and efficient plant operation.

Key responsibilities

• Monitor and control the electricity production process from the control room.
• Detect, diagnose and handle current faults in plant equipment.
• Support preventive maintenance activities and execute field monitoring routines.
• Prepare and deliver regular reports to the shift manager and coordinate with maintenance teams.
• Liaise with other plant interfaces to ensure smooth operational flow.

Required profile

• Proven experience operating a control room in a power generation environment.
• Strong understanding of electrical production processes and safety procedures.
• Ability to work under pressure and make quick decisions during fault conditions.
• Good communication skills for reporting and teamwork.
