Security Research Manager – Identity, SaaS & Cloud

About the role

Palo Alto Networks is looking for an experienced security leader to head a research team focused on Identity, SaaS, and Cloud risk. You will guide technical mentorship, set strategic direction, and ensure research outcomes directly influence product security and customer protection.

Key responsibilities

• Define and maintain the research roadmap for Identity, SaaS, and Cloud risk domains.
• Lead, grow, and mentor a diverse team of security researchers.
• Translate research findings into product‑focused security strategies and customer‑facing solutions.
• Oversee high‑fidelity attack simulations and TTP deconstruction.
• Collaborate with Engineering, Product Management, and Threat Intel to develop mitigation strategies.
• Represent the team internally and externally as a leading authority on identity‑centric and cloud security.

Required profile

• 2+ years of technical leadership or people‑management experience in security research.
• Proven track record of directing high‑impact security research projects.
• Deep expertise in Identity platforms, SaaS applications, and major cloud environments.
• Ability to define and execute a strategic research agenda.
