Principal Engineer - AI First Development Lead

About the role

Aidoc is looking for a Principal Engineer to define the technical direction and long‑term architecture of its AI‑first development tools. Reporting to the co‑founder and Chief Architect, you will influence the entire R&D organization and drive high‑impact, cross‑team initiatives.

Key responsibilities

• Define and execute the long‑term strategy for AI‑first development tools in partnership with engineering leadership.
• Lead company‑wide technical initiatives, ensuring alignment and best practices across multiple teams.
• Design, develop, and integrate cutting‑edge AI tools to boost developer productivity and system robustness.
• Establish engineering standards for performance, reliability, observability, and scalability.

Required profile

• 15+ years of professional software development experience.
• Proven technical leadership delivering complex, cross‑functional projects.
• Deep understanding of enterprise architecture, scalability, and operations.
• Strong ability to align technical directors and executives around a shared vision.

Required skills

• Expertise in modern backend languages such as Python, Go, Node.js, Java or C#.
• Experience with cloud infrastructure (AWS or equivalent) and modern DevOps practices.
• Power‑user of AI‑first development tools (e.g., Claude Code, Cursor, other agents, MCP servers).
